The Cannon County Sheriff's Department took a number of reports recently on the theft of items ranging from jewelry to farm equipment to pills.
• Luther Wood of 227 Ayers Rd., McMinnville, reported the theft of equipment from his farm on Browntown Rd., Morrison, on May 27. Deputy Reed Bryson took the report at the Sheriff's Office. Wood stated that a John Deere turning plow, Ellis tobacco setter and John Deere sprayer had been taken from the property. The last time the items were seen was around May 17, Wood said. The items were valued at $1,265.
• Mitch Wilson of 330 Riverbend Rd., Woodbury, reported that his home was burglarized on May 27. Items taken included a jewelry box with jewelry, an antique box, a digital camera and camera equipment. Value of the stolen items is estimated at over $5,500.
• Tabitha King of 72 Roach Hollow, Woodbury, reported the theft of a Sony Vio laptop computer valued at $1400 and a Phillips 46-inch HD flat screen TV valued at $1200 from her home on May 25. King stated were taken sometime on May 23. She said her door was not locked and she did not know who would have taken her property.
• Terry Don Duke of 485 Duke Rd., Morrison, reported on May 29 hat someone had broken into his residence on May 27 and had stolen some of his medication. He said 80 Percocet pills and 80 Soma pills were missing, each valued at $45. Duke stated the burglars entered the residence through the back door and had taken the medication out of a cabinet in the kitchen area. Duke also stated there were 120 pills in each of the bottles and whoever had taken them had took the time to count out 80 pills and left the rest.
• Faron Lane Ferrell reported to Deputy Anthony Young that on May 24 someone had gone onto his property located at 7781 McMinnville Hwy. and stolen copper wire of out of the residence. Ferrell stated the wire was valued at $1000.
• Deputy Brandon Mims responded to 2316 Parchcorn Rd. for a break in that had already taken place. Upon arrival, James Mayo of 210 Dillon St., Woodbury, told Mims that he had not been living in the house and that some things of his had come up missing. Mayo said he had been contacted my a neighbor who said the barn next to the house had burned down. Mayo said the barn was not serviced by electricity. The barn was still smoking at the time Mims arrived on the scene.
Mayo advised Mims that someone had entered the house and taken several antiques and hand tools. The missing items and the burned barn were valued at $9670.
• Deputy Randy Neal took a report of a theft from Hobert Dailey of 7738 Hollow Springs Rd., Bradyville, on May 31. Dailey stated that Jessica Nicole Davis of 119 Bryson Court, Woodbury, came to his residence that day and stole $50 from him. Dailey reported that Davis had come to his residence the day before and was asking all kinds of questions about who was there and who was staying with him. Dailey said when she came today she asked if he had any money she could borrow and he stated he did not. Dailey said Davis then saw a $50 bill on the end table and grabbed it and ran out the door, where her brother was in the car waiting for her. Dailey spoke with a judicial commissioner and a criminal summons was issued for Davis.
