MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --Theft charges were filed Monday against a former Outpost Armory employee accused of stealing scopes, knives and accessories from his employer during the past six months.
According to officials with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, authorities have charged 34-year-old Kyle E. Miller, of Jim Cummings Highway near Bradyville, Tenn., with one count of felony theft for allegedly stealing more than $1,000 worth of property, following a monthlong investigation by Detective Steve Craig.
Miller is accused of stealing the merchandise from The Outpost Armory, located on Miller Lane in Christiana, Tenn., while he was employed at the business for the past eight months, Craig said.
Officials have confirmed that no firearms were stolen from the store.
Miller has since been terminated.
“We were able to recover over $5,000 of the merchandise,” Craig said.
The property will be returned to the store once the case is resolved in court.
Miller was charged and booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in Murfreesboro, where he was released after posting $3,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been set for Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
