Each year, students at Woodland participate in the climbing of the peg board in the Woodland Elementary gymnasium.
In their attempts, they must make it to the top of the peg board and then climb back down to have a successful climb.
The climbing of the peg board involves upper body strength and control to make sure that a climber traverses the board successfully.
This year, there are five students who have made successful climbs. Those students are: Tyler Matheny (6th Grade), Jamal Barrett (3rd Grade), Blake Gilley (5th Grade), Julio Dominguez (8th Grade), Jacob Fisk (7th Grade)
These students have completed a collective total of 63 climbs since January. They are hoping to make it to over 100 climbs by the end of the school year.
Also in the gym, students have been practicing running a mile to see who has the best times. The male and female students listed are the top runners in their classes. The male and female students with the overall best times for the school are bolded:
