Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary will be celebrating the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) national "Help A Horse Day" on April 23, 2016 and competing for a chance to win up to $25,000 in grant prizes to assist with their efforts to protect horses!

This nationwide competition is for equine rescues and sanctuaries to raise awareness about the lifesaving work they do year-round to care for at-risk horses in their community who have often been abused or neglected.

In honor of the ASPCA's 150th Anniversary celebration this year, the contest has been expanded to include a total of $100,000 in grant prizes, including a grand prize of $25,000.

To celebrate the day, Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary will host the following event in April:

Saturday April 23rdSpring Fling: 10 am to 4 pm. We encourage the public to come to the sanctuary and bring Donations and Wish list items for our sanctuary residents as well as for the Community Cheer Horses we have selected to assist!

Visitors will have an opportunity to see some of our most popular senior draft horses up close and personal, learn about their care and management needs, and shop for local and hand-made items! Take a horse drawn carriage ride for spectacular views of the sanctuary!

On Sunday April 24th Volunteers of Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary will spread community cheer to selected senior horses in need by providing items collected thru our Donation Drive!

Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary is a 501c3 non-profit organization which cares for special needs senior horses that require a permanent sanctuary setting. We take in horses who have suffered in their former lives--after years of providing hard service to human beings, some were abandoned, some were starved, some were taken to auctions, and some were abused.

All are given the safe and fulfilling retirement that they deserve--with beloved companions, plenty of good food, space to move, regular hoof-care, veterinary and dental attention. Each horse has special needs --arthritis, hoof issues, old injuries, metabolic issues, blindness, dental challenges--and we make sure that each horse gets the individual attention he or she needs.

Your tax deductible donations will help give these special souls what they so deserve!
