Fallen Hero Honored By Law Enforcement Agencies

Representatives of the Kentucky State Police Post 3, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Cannon County Sheriff's Dept. gathered at Riverside Cemetery Monday afternoon to honor a fallen hero.

Trooper William H. Barrett, age 35, died Dec. 19, 1971, when he was ambushed and shot in Warren County, KY.

Trooper Barrett was assigned to Post 3 Bowling Green and had served with the Kentucky State Police for four years. Prior to that, Barrett served two years with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Participating in the ceremony honor Trooper Barrett on Monday were Cannon County Sheriff Darrell Young, Chief Deputy Bruce Kirby, THP Sgt. Billy Prater, and Captain Lisa Rodzinski, Post Coordinator; Lt. Shannon West, Asst. Post Coordinator, Sgt. Todd Combs, Investigative Sergeant; Trooper Jonathan Bivon, PAO and Trooper Greg Dukes of the Kentucky State Police.
