An 84-year-old woman ended up in the Cannon County Jail on June 23 following an incident at her home.

Dorothy R. Parker, 120 Mason St., Woodbury, was charged with making false statements to law enforcement officers and resisting arrest by Woodbury Police Patrolman John Fesmire.

According to the arrest warrant, Parker “willfully hindered officers who had responded to her house after they were dispatched there for a domestic disturbance. Parker turned lights (at her home) out as they arrived, pretended no one was home, refused to answer/open the door and lied about what had happened.

“She (Parker) stated no one was home and that nothing had happened.

“Another individual was located in the home. It was soon after discovered that an argument occurred there, which was contrary to what Parker stated. This was all done to prevent officers from investigating the alleged domestic assault,” the warrant states.

In a separate warrant, it is alleged Parker “tried to constantly pull away” as officers were attempting to arrest her.

Total bond for Parker was set at $5,500. Initial court date is Aug. 23.
