I traveled to St. Thomas - West in Nashville for the follow-up appointment with my Surgeon yesterday. I got a very good report! I only have one small problem with some slight infection in the vein harvest sight near my left ankle, so I am on round of antibiotics.
I also have to return to Nashville on Monday, August 26th, 2019 for a CT Scan on my heart to check on the aorta repair.
Otherwise, I have been told that I can go back to all normal activities after Labor Day on September 3rd, 2019.
They also told me that I can do some work on 1/2 days between now and then, but to pace myself and limit stress.
I argued to return on August 19th, 2019 on a full-time basis but that was vetoed, and they wanted me off until September 18th, 2019 which is the 12 week time frame, so I got it reduced to 10 weeks instead of the full 12 weeks!

I can now drive without restrictions and lift up to 20 pounds. I also have been approved to begin cardiac rehab. I have an appointment today (08-06-2109) at 10 AM for cardiac rehab evaluation at The Wellness Center at St. Thomas - Rutherford.
Since I have been given the "go-ahead" I will start with their recommendation as soon as possible.
Thanks to all of you for your understanding, and I express my sincerest appreciation to each of you, particularly Dr. Marcia Melton, Supervisors, and the CCS Office Staff. Principals, I am receiving very good reports of an excellent start of the 2019-2020 school year.
School Board Members, thanks for your understanding, and my desire is to get back serving students, parents, teachers, staff of Cannon County Schools better than ever as soon as possible to continue.
Because of the above stipulations, I will phase back in to the office routine the next three weeks.
I also plan to do some school visits during that time. Again, my "HEART-felt" appreciation to
each of you!

Sincerely from this servant's heart,
Freddy
