Deputies Bust Man With Drugs, Investigate Dogs Biting Cars

Following are the latest arrest and incident reports as filed by the Cannon County Sheriff Department.

02.16.2010 — Deputies Brandon Gullett and Brandon Mimms responded to a fight in progress at Ivy Bluff Auto Salvage. Shannon Mohler was upset with Barry Mitchell who had cut off the electricity to Mohler's rented home. Each party said the other instigated the fight but neither wished to press charges. Statements were taken from both parties.

02.17.2010 — Deputy Randy Neal responded to a break in at 71 Oak Ridge Drive where Sue Taylor reported that Brandon Thomas had broken into her garage and stolen car keys after he had been told to stay off the property more than once. The investigation is ongoing.

02.18.2010 — Deputy Patrick Fann responded to an attack on a woman at 2297 K. Parker Rd. There Ms. Ranie Patterson reported being attacked and drug off by her hair while outside smoking a cigarette. She blacked out at that point. Ms. Patterson refused EMS transport to check her for injuries. Deputy Fann could not find any sign of struggle or tracks in the snow outside the house.

02.18.2010 — Reputy Randy Neal took a report from Ms. Judi Goff regarding a window being shot out at her 7385 Short Mountain Rd. home. She was not sure how or when it happened.

02.18.2010 — Deputy Eric Moss responded to an anonymous horse neglect complaint at 3332 Espy Rd. There he spoke with Karen Wright who explained that they did have a horse but it was well cared-for. Deputy Moss observed that the horse had food, water, and shelter and appeared healthy.

02.19.2010 — Deputy Barker transported Michael H. Thomas from the Rutherford County Jail to the Cannon County Jail. Upon arrival he was booked with violation of probation.

02.20.2010 — Deputy Matthew Parsley stopped a vehicle at Simmons Chapel Church after observing it had a headlight out and driving somewhat recklessly. Vehicle Operator Joshua Gilley seemed nervous and paranoid when talking to the deputy. Gilley did not a have a license. A small scale of the type used to weigh drugs was found on his person. Gilley consented to a search of his vehicle and various drug paraphernalia was found. His license was also found to be revoked and at this time he was placed into custody. During a jail intake search a small amount of marijuana was found. Gilley was charged with possession of schedule II, possession of schedule IV, driving on revoked license 3rd offense, and violation of light law. $971 in paper currency was also seized.

02.20.2010 — Deputy Matthew Parsley took a report at Stones River ER for a dog bite that occurred the previous day. Athena Lawson has been bitten while doing a roofing estimate at Jeff Lorance's residence by a long hair / lab mix.

02.21.2010 — Deputy McMillen responded to property damage at 7229 Auburntown Road where Lloyd Mingle reported that someone had damaged his fence with a car. Deputy Brad Hall called Mr. Mingle the next day to report that Blake King had reported running into the fence.

02.21.2010 — Deputy Anthony Young took a report at the CCSO from Randall Rains who stated that on 02-20 Clifton Murphy had broke out his driver side window and assaulted him. He also said David Murphy had hit his car with a dirt bike. Young then went to 5130 Jim Cummins Hwy. to speak with David Murphy who stated that Rains had hit his dirtbike with his vehicle and it was the handlebars that broke the window and hit Rains in the face. He also said that Clifton was not at the scene.

02.21.2010 — Deputy Brandon Mimms served a warrant on Michael Roller for violation of probation after transporting him from the Warren Co. line to the CCSO.

02.21.2010 — Deputies Brandon Mimms and McMillen responded to a 911 disconnect at 3907 Dickens Hill Road. Deputies cleared the scene. Debbie Waters was having a hard time breathing and EMS took over.

02.22.2010 — Deputy Randy Neal responded to a fire at 1082 Hawkins Hill Road. The trailer on the property had burned to the ground. Ms. Dana Frazier had no idea what could have started the fire.

02.22.2010 — Deputy Reed Bryson responded to a dog causing damage to vehicle at 75 Choctaw Drive. There Russ Jones reported that two dogs had run out and damaged his son's Honda Civic on Bradyville Road. Mr. Jones had gone out to the site to take pictures of the dogs and they bit his bumper. Mr. Jones then called the CCSO. Bryson contacted the dogs' owner and they are working out the details of fixing the vehicles.

02.22.2010 — Lt. Hall served Ignacio Hernandez with a contempt of court order and transported him to the CCSO.

02.22.2010 — Deputy Tommy Barker mediated a dispute between Jennifer Walls and Christie Keaton about Ms. Keaton moving her things out of the 3491 Parchcorn Hollow property she was renting from Ms. Walls.
