Citizens Honored For Service To Cannon County

Several citizens were honored for their service to the community during a luncheon Thursday at the Cannon County Courthouse.

Cannon County Executive Mike Gannon presented plaques to several of those who worked for Cannon County Government.

From left are Anna Nichols, Cannon County Jail Administrator; Judy Foster, who worked in the Circuit Court Clerk's Office; Harold Patrick, former Clerk and Master; James Maxwell, who ends his term as county trustee Aug. 31; Billy Nichols, Cannon County Sheriff; Andy Bryson, former Grand Jury Foreman, and Robert "Hoppy" Davenport, former Circuit Court Clerk.

During Saturday's special session of the County Commission, commissioners who are leaving office will be honored. They are Rebekah Parton, Greg Mitchell, Nathan Nichols and Karen Ashford.

Persons elected to office during the County General Election on Aug. 5 will be sworn into office by Circuit Judge J. Mark Rogers during a ceremony Monday at 6 p.m. at the courthouse.
