Two persons have been charged with aggravated child abuse after Woodbury Police found them living in unsanitary conditions recently.

Juan Urban and Diane French, both of 203 Terrace Lane, Woodbury, were arrested on April 11 following an investigation by WPD Police Chief Tony Burnett and Sgt. Lowell Womack.

They found four children — ages one, two, three and four — allegedly "living in conditions that consisted of no electricity, no running water, dog feces and insufficient food," Chief Burnett said.

French is the mother of the four children. Urban is her boyfriend, and is not related to the children.

Both face four counts of aggravated child abuse. Bond for each was set at $40,000. They are scheduled to make their initial appearance in Cannon County General Sessions Court on May 17.

The children are currently staying with a family member, Chief Burnett said.

Why didn't friends or family step in sooner to help?
