Mrs. Crystal Kennedy's Virtual Enterprise class at Cannon County High School took a field trip to MTSU for a VE Workshop on Thursday, August 26, 2010.
Students in the VE course were able to attend various workshops that pertained to their specific job duties within the VE firm. Workshops consisted of Business Plan Prep, Leadership CEO & CFO, Trade Show Marketing, and What Judges Want.
The Virtual Enterprise International course is new this year in the Business Education Department at CCHS. VE is a simulated business environment that enables students to be involved in actual on the job work experiences.
Departments within the VE firm include: Accounting, Administration, Human Resources, and Marketing. The firm also has a CEO, CAO, and CFO as well as a Vice President of each department.
Students are required to draft a business plan that must be approved by the TN State Director of VE and perform work duties as specified by their department. Personnel records are kept, company policies are written, and virtual business takes place between the CCHS firm and other firms throughout Tennessee and the nation.
