Cannon County Jail Passes State Inspection

The Cannon County Jail was inspected by the Tennessee Corrections Institute on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 by State Detention Facility Specialist Joe Ferguson.

During the inspection, Ferguson listed no problems in any areas of the jail which included the cellblock, kitchen and other areas in the facility.

“Each year Tennessee jails are inspected to assess the adequacy of each facility and to the extent to which each jail complies with prescribed Minimum Standards for Local Correctional Facilities,” said Sheriff Billy Nichols.

“I want to commend our Jail Administrator, Anna Nichols, for her diligence is keeping our Jail in compliance with all state requirements.”

The inmate total on Tuesday was 52, including 14 females.
