More than 30 vendors filled the Cannon County Senior Citizens Center for the annual Health Fair Wednesday (Sept. 22).
Attendees were treated to a variety of exhibits from health/senior related companies whose representatives shared knowledge, handouts and other items.
There were also a variety of speakers, games and door prizes, as well as a sack lunch for those in attendance. Seniors also had opportunities for vaccinations and blood pressure checks.
“Our main focus is health education and health screening,” said Connie Rigsby, director of the Cannon County Senior Citizens Center.
“We obtained Level 3 Senior Citizens status this year which means we doubled the people we serve and this Health Fair is one of the many things we do, but this is one of the biggest events of the year because so many people take advantage. We try to pack a lot into a day in order to provide several services for our Senior Citizens.”
