Is He Dead? is a recently discovered comedy originally written by Mark Twain and adapted by David Ives. Millet is a brilliant but impoverished painter, but no one will pay for his paintings while he’s still alive. When his friends persuade him that the secret to success lies in convincing the world he’s dead, Millet hatches a scheme which could make him rich, famous, and able to marry the girl of his dreams-if only he didn’t have to be a corpse to do it.

Auditions for The Arts Center’s production of this comedy will be held at The Arts Center on Monday, March 15th at 6:30PM and Tuesday, March 16th at 6:30PM. Director Crosby Hunt has roles available for 4 females and 7 males, ages 18-80. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Production dates are April 23 – May 8.

The Arts Center is located on 1424 John Bragg Highway, just west of the town of Woodbury, approximately 20 minutes from Murfreesboro, Manchester, and McMinnville and one hour southeast of Nashville.
