The big day is finally here. Every child, young and old, has waited all year for this. Santa will be at the Adams Memorial Library, Tuesday, December 16, at 5:30 p.m. Come in to see the jolly old elf and experience Christmas cheer at the library. Refreshments will be served in the Jennings Community Room.
If you haven't yet seen the library decorated for the holidays, your spirits will be lifted by the merry décor. Bring your camera and have your photo taken with Santa.
Story time will continue this week with the usual times of 10:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday at Adams and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Auburntown. Toddlers come on Monday, pre-school on Tuesday and all ages on Wednesday. If you haven't brought your child to this before, now is a great time to get started.
Computer Essentials class has finished, but more computer classes are to start in the new year. Stop by the Adams circulation desk to find out what the classes are, when they will be held and to sign up.
2015 is the Fiftieth Anniversary of the opening of the Adams Memorial Library. We are already at work on ideas to celebrate this exciting milestone for Cannon County and the library. If you have any ideas on events or activities you'd like to develop or assist with, we'll be glad to have your participation in this historical event.
Also starting in January is the Adult and Teen Winter Reading Program.
What better time to curl up with a good book than during the chilly winter months. This is open to anyone who is in the 6th grade or older. Be entered to win a prize for every 5 books you read. Information and book reading slips will be available at both Adams and Auburn circulation desks.
The holiday season and the New Year are promising to be fun and festive at the library. When the weather gets cold and nippy, remember it's always warm and welcoming at the library. Come anythime.
