Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Friday. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Ethan Cord Taylor’s application for suspended sentence was denied. He was ordered to serve his 4 year prison sentence.

Joseph Edwards was appointed an attorney and reset until June 11, 2010. He is charged with violation of probation.

John Daniel McPeak pled guilty to the charge of assault. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. In another case, McPeak pled guilty to two counts of sale of methamphetamine under .5 grams. He was sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison. A suspended sentence hearing was set for June 11, 2010 to determine whether or not he will be required to serve his entire sentence. McPeak was also ordered to pay $4,000.00 in fines.

Steven John Hollis’ application for suspended sentence was denied. He was ordered to serve his 4 year prison sentence.

Eddy Farris pled guilty to the charge of felony possession of methamphetamine under .5 grams. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison. That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $3,000.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Christina Kelley’s motion for bond reduction was granted. She was released on her own recognizance. She was also appointed legal counsel and reset for July 8, 2010.

Vanessa McCormick was appointed the public defender and reset for June 11, 2010. She is charged with driving while a habitual motor vehicle offender, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration over .20, driving under the influence, driving while license revoked and violation of the financial responsibility law.

Randy Durham’s motion hearing was reset for July 7, 2010. He is charged with second degree murder.
