Samuel Marshall Gore, a distinguished Mississippi College art professor, superb sculptor and internationally celebrated treasure, will present a special program at First Baptist Church, Woodbury, on Palm Sunday, April 1. During his presentation Dr. Gore will transform a hunk of clay into a sculpture of the head of Christ.

At age 84, an ever energetic Gore is much at home sculpting the head of Christ as he is crafting a 3,000-pound bronze sculpture depicting Jesus and his disciples on the Mount. The largest work of his career, “Christ: The Fulfillment of the Law” is a magnificent piece that first graced the exterior walls of the Mississippi College School of Law in June 2009.  

The public is invited to attend this special presentation which will begin at six o'clock p.m. The church is located on West Main Street in Woodbury.
