A Woodbury man is facing multiple charges after trying to evade arrest on a motorcycle.

Toby Lynn Young, 62 Dunlap Lane, Woodbury, was charged with evading arrest by a motor vehicle, driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of the helmet, registration and financial responsibility laws on May 10.

Young, driving a Honda motorcycle, tried to evade a traffic stop by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Lawrence Avera. He attempted to flee Deputy Avera on Crossroads Rd., Short Mountain Hwy. and Gunter Hollow Rd.

After Deputy Avera was able to stop Young, he found in Young’s possession a hypodermic needle and a pipe commonly used to smoke or inhale drugs.

Total bond was set at $6,000. Initial court date is July 21.
