Virgin Falls Pocket Wilderness Area is as rugged as it is beautiful. The high school Outdoor Club hiked the 9 mile trail down to Big Laurel and Virgin Falls (pictured).

The pocket wilderness area lies within the Scotts Gulf Natural Area between Sparta and Crossville and is part of the upper Caney Fork watershed.

This time of year both falls offer spectacular icy scenery.

 Hikers included Hunter Miller, Kayla Blackburn, Trent Fagan, Charles Steeleman, T.J. Paul, Emory Larson, Tanner Larson, James Young, Cindy Larson, Doug King and Marc Larson.
