Mamie Marlene (King) Vance passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Woodbury Health and Rehab. Born in Auburntown, TN., she was the daughter of the late Elvis King and Bobbie Stoner King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyte E. Vance; son, Bobby Vance; son- in-law, John B. Melton, III, and siblings, George Oland King, Jim Grady (Glennette) King, Christine (Oran) Duggin, Irene (Reams) Duggin, Bill King, Wade King, and Sara Ellen (Charles Authur) Smithson.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Melton and Marty Vance; daughter-in-law, Glenda Vance; grandchildren, Jason (Kristy) Melton, Mark (Stephanie) Vance, Michael (April) Vance, , Emily (Brent) Hargrove and Callie (Dalton) Hale; great grandchildren, Ashlyn (Bryant) Hare, Addison and Allie Melton, Reese, Ryder and Renley Vance, MaKenzie Vance, Weston (Taylor), Ethan and Claire Hargrove, 4 great-great grandchildren, Wryn, Ridge, Riggs and Rowyn Hare; siblings, John (Betty) King; sisters-in-law, Peggy King and Benny Kay McCaslin. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Vance was a faithful member of Woodbury First Baptist Church and devoted her life to her family and home. She loved her family deeply, and if they were gathered together, chances are you would find her in the kitchen. She loved trying new recipes, cooking for those she loved and creating a place where everyone felt welcome around her table.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Burnett officiating. Interment will follow at Prosperity cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to MS Society, First Baptist Youth, or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
