Marilyn (Darda) Sherburne was born September 18, 1944 and born again, April 21, 1970. She went to be with her Lord and Saviour June 21, 2026 in Smyrna, TN. She was the daughter of the late, Charles Thomas Darda and Georgiana Edna Louzon; parents-in-law, Leland Glea Sherburne and Dorothy Mae Deal.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Lewis Sherburne; her children, Jamie Lynn Nave, Paula Jean Mizell and husband Bill Mizell, and James Lewis Sherburne Jr.; grandchildren,Jared Nave and wife Elleana (Sissom) Nave; Jacob Nave and fiancee Lauren Underwood and Dalton Sherburne and girlfriend Claire Cummins; great grandson: Hero Nave; siblings, brother, Darell Darda; sisters: Betty Bombrys, Donna (Dave) Taggart, Carol Darda and Doreen Darda; sisters-in-law: Pat Darda, and, Sue Darda; Brother-in-law, Doug Sherburne; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and parents-in-law, she was preceded in death by 7 brothers: Chuck Darda, Frankie Darda, Bob Darda, Tom Darda, Jim Darda, David Darda, and Roger Darda and granddaughter: Heather Dawn Mizell; brothers-in-law: Lee Sherburne and Steven Sherburne, sisters-in-law: Bev Sherburne and Marianne Sherburne.
A member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN, she loved reading and watching mysteries, she loved to read, especially the bible but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She would go all out with gifts, food and decorations. She loved watching it snow and play video games with her grandsons. Some of her best of times were spent watching her grandsons play basketball.
Mrs. Sherburne was a kind, loving, Godly wife, mom, grama, and great grama who we will miss deeply. She was the best life partner a man could ever have.
Her family will receive friends Thursday, June 25, 2026 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Burnett and Bro. Steven Smith officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 5350 NW Broad St. Murfreesboro, TN. 37129.
Pallbearers include Jared Nave, Jacob Nave, Dalton Sherburne, Colin Jones, Garret McReynolds and Jake Burdick. Darell Darda will serve as honorary pallbearer.
