A street clock is one of the newest additions to the renovation of the Courthouse Revitalization Project. The impressive street clock, which illuminates in the evening, operates via satellite so even if time stops during storms or power outages it will re-set itself. In other project news, head contractor Terry Preston of Preston Brothers Construction said today that North Cannon St. will be shut down all of next week (June 14 to June 20) to lay the crosswalk, and that the following week (June 21-27) the Main St. corner of North Tatum St. will be blocked off to do the crosswalk on that side of the courthouse. The work on the revitalization project is scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
