Stella Imogene (Bush) Rogers, 91, of Woodbury went to sleep at her home October 29, 2025 and woke in the arms of her dear Savior and constant companion. Eagerly waiting to greet Momma was her beloved husband of 51 years, Everett, son Roy, daughter-in- law Nelda, son in-law Jim, grandson Stuart and Great grandsons Nicky and Kayden.
Momma was the 5th child of 13 born to George & Millie (Carter) Bush of the Hollow Springs community. Born in a cabin cleared & built by her parents.
Preceding her in death was Gale, Joyce McBride, Bobby, Jesse J.T ,Donna Mae Taylor, Thelma Kennedy, Twila Underwood.
Dad & Mom were married on May 28,1949 in Georgia. With all the love they had for each other and wanting a large family. Sooner, rather than later, they had 7 terrific kids. Everett Eugene Rogers, Jr. (Nelda deceased), Kathy Darlene Allen (Jim deceased), Sharon Louise Newlin (Jeffrey), Roy Dale Rogers (deceased), Carla Jo Newlin (David), Regina Ann (Mike) Wallace and Billy Dean (Angela) Rogers.
Mom & Dad raised the family in Illinois for 29 years. When Dad retired from General Motors in Danville, Illinois they returned home to Woodbury . Back home to parents & siblings eager to catch up with old news .
Mom worked outside the home for 10 years at Woodbury Nursing Home. Loving & caring as always Mom loved her “little old people”.
Last but not least the next greatest gift, 12 Grandchildren. Mom was a Grandmother at 35 and loved, loved, loved these children. 34 Great-Grandchildren and 10 Great- Great- Grandchildren. Fore, and Britney & Joe Wilder.
God places people in our lives as we come & go. Laugh and cry. The Rogers children are truly thankful for the Christian God serving ladies of Gentivia Hospice. The tattooed lady & Tanner. This isn’t good-bye Momma just “see ya”, later! And all GOD’s children say , Amen!
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Heath and Bro. Mike Hollis officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherry cemetery. Her great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
