Tolbert Ray Melton, age 92, of Thompsons Station, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at Williamson Medical Center. He was born to his parents, the late Rexford & Nannie Mae Gilley Melton on June 15, 1933 in Cannon County.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Jean Barrett Melton of Thompsons Station; Children, Tony (Julie) Melton of Michigan, Teresa (Jeff) Wilson of Franklin, & Tracy (Paul) Sellers of Franklin; Grandchildren, Josh Melton, Aaron Melton, Jordan Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Sara Williams, Sloane Jacobs, Bowen Sellers, & Jacob Sellers. 15 Great Grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Melton & Billy Melton.
Ray was a member of the Triune Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Army. He worked at the Clements Paper Company in Nashville and at Associated Package in Gallatin.
Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Monday, July 21, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Pastor Reed Buntin. The family will receive friends for the visitation from 11 am to 2 pm Monday, July 21, 2025.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Josh Melton, Aaron Melton, Jordan Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Bowen Sellers, Jacob Sellers, Caleb Williams, & Grant Jacobs.
