This has been a difficult year for the local food bank with demand being high while at the same time donations have been down.
Recently, Rev. John Wesley Hembree presented a check to the local food bank for $480 from the United Methodist people of Cannon County.
The church also specifies one food item each month that members bring to worship, and leave in a special collection bin. The item is collected each Sunday during the month and at the end of the month is donated to the food bank.
