Matt Rigsby has resigned as head coach of the Cannon County High School boys basketball team.

Rigsby posted the following statement on his Facebook page Wednesday:

"The time has come to make this FB official .... I have resigned my position as Physical Ed/Wellness, Athletic Director, and Head Boys Basketball Coach at CCHS.

"Numerous thoughts and prayers went into this decision, but I wholeheartedly feel it's the correct one that should be made in order for me to simply be the father to my own sons they deserve me to be. Just now in my 35 years am I learning how precious time at home truly is.

"With that being said, my next thoughts and prayers are continued to be focused on my former players and students at CCHS and now at Siegel High School as I make the next move to have the opportunity to help mold young men.
