Letter: Jesus reason for the season

Dec 15, 2015 at 03:06 pm by admin

To the Editor:

Christmas will soon be here again. It is a wonderful time of the year. Children are all excited waiting for Santa to come. In many schools, "Noel" or "Silent Night" couldn't be sung only songs like "Frosty the Snow Man" or "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."
The same thing is stores. The workers aren't allowed to say "Merry Christmas" to anyone. They will be fired. We may offend someone; they say.
If Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, there wouldn't be a reason for a holiday to celebrate, it would be just another day.
Take some time to reflect on Jesus this year. It is Jesus' birthday and he is being left out of the celebration and pushed aside. Suppose you were left out of your birthday celebration and pushed aside. How would you feel? Sad? Jesus has feelings too. He is sad too, he has feelings also.
Remember to say "Merry Christmas" this year, not "Happy Holiday." God sent us the best gift, His son Jesus, on Christmas Day. Jesus was born as the Savior of the world. I wish everyone a "Merry Christmas" and a "Happy New Year."
Happy birthday Jesus.
