The Cannon County Sheriff’s Department has wrapped up an arson investigation and arrested their prime suspect.

Patrick J. McCullough, age 29 of Burt Road, was arrested by the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department after he allegedly set fire to his mother’s mobile home.

The fire occurred on May 26th in the Burt Community.

Deputies quickly developed McCullough as a suspect because of alleged threats he made to family members indicating he would burn the home down.

McCullough reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived but before he left, he told family members that the residence was burning.

Investigator Vance Walker took over the investigation and quickly obtained an arrest warrant for McCullough. After searching for McCullough for a couple of days, deputies located him and served the warrant.

McCullough is currently being held in the Cannon County Jail in lieu of $15,000.00 bond on the charge of arson and will appear before General Sessions Judge Susan Melton on July 13th. No one was injured as a result of the fire.
