March is Red Cross Month and the American Red Cross is asking you to join us in providing help and hope to people in need.

As one of the nation’s best known humanitarian organizations, the Red Cross helps Americans prevent, prepare for and respond to large and small disasters – a role the organization adopted 130 years ago.

Nationally, the Red Cross responds to an average of nearly 200 disasters every day. The organization provides a round-the-clock link between those in the military and their families, and supplies blood and blood products to approximately 3,000 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country.

Here in the Tennessee Valley Region, we serve 59 hospitals in 70 counties across middle Tennessee, southwestern Kentucky and parts of Illinois and Missouri.  On behalf of the Tennessee Valley Region, thank you for helping us continue our service to those who need us, every day.

Locally, you may give blood on Thursday, March 17, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Lions Club Building located at 540 W. Adams St. in Woodbury.
