• “Adventure is worthwhile in itself."

• "My ambition is to have this wonderful gift produce practical results for the future of commercial flying
and for the women who may want to fly tomorrow's planes."

• “Women should do for themselves what men have already done - occasionally what men have not done--thereby establishing themselves as persons, and perhaps encouraging other women toward greater independence of thought and action. Some such consideration was a contributing reason for my wanting to do what I so much wanted to do."

• “I believe that women must try to do things as men have tried. I firmly believe there are no limitations.” Amelia Earhart

School children in the Middle Tennessee area will get a chance to see live theater in the next few weeks as The Arts Center of Cannon County presents Amelia Earhart. Your heart takes flight as Kathryn Schultz Miller tells the thrilling story of one of America’s most fascinating heroines. A curious reporter begins to uncover the story of Amelia’s mysterious disappearance asking the question, “What happened, Amelia?” American culture is painted vividly with the headlines, music, styles and politics of the 1930s and 40s, and serves as a backdrop to Amelia’s innermost thoughts as she flies across the Atlantic.

Amelia Earhart is directed by Connie Bryant and features Kathryn Turney as Amelia Earhart. Also appearing are Joey Hooie and Brock Parks. There will be a public performance on May 8 at 2:00PM. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

The Arts Center is located on 1424 John Bragg Highway, just west of the town of Woodbury, approximately 20 minutes from Murfreesboro, Manchester, and McMinnville and one hour southeast of Nashville. Office hours are 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information check our website at www.artscenterofcc.com or call 615-563-(ARTS) 2787 or 1-800-235-9073.
