Two people were arrested recently following an incident which began when they were allegedly spotted riding a 4-wheeler.
Cannon County Sheriff's Sgt. Randy Neal was on Old Prospect Rd. on May 31 serving papers on a subject when he saw David McPeak and Tiffany Mullins-Cross go by on a tan Honda 4-wheeler,
Sgt. Neal finished serving the paper and went to see if he could find McPeak because he was aware there were active warrants for his arrest. Sgt. Neal contacted Sheriff Darrell Young for backup and he and Deputy Steve McMillen came to 5962 Pleasant View Road. Upon arrival Sgt. Neal spoke with Tiffany Mullins-Cross, who said that McPeak was not at the residence and was not with her on the 4-wheeler.
After Sgt. Neal told Mullins-Cross he had seen her and McPeak on the 4-wheeler, Mullins-Cross again stated McPeak was not there and she had not seen him. Deputy McMillen stated a 4-wheeler was parked in the back yard of the residence. Sgt. Neal looked at the 4-wheeler and it appeared to be the one he observed being driven on Old Prospect Rd.
Sgt. Neal went to the residence and spoke with Darlene Holt. He asked if McPeak was inside the residence and Holt said he was not. Holt said she had not seen him and did not know anything about the 4-wheeler behind her house. Holt said she heard something running but did not know who or what it was. Holt also stated that Tiffany knew she was not to be on her property.
Sgt. Neal asked Mullins-Cross again where McPeak was and she again said she did not know and that he was not with her. Sgt. Neal then placed Mullins-Cross, of 1023 Cavender Rd., Woodbury, under arrest for filing a false report and for criminal trespass. Total bond was set at $6000. Initial court date is July 12.
Sgt. Neal and Deputy Eric Moss went to 1205 Center Hill Road on June 4 to serve an arrest warrant on David McPeak. Upon arrival they noticed that the door to the garage was open. Upon looking in the garage Sgt. Neal saw McPeak under a truck.
McPeak was taken into custody on Capias and failure to appear warrants. His bond is $105,000. Initial court date is July 12.
