23 Indicted By Grand Jury

Friday marked the regular meeting of the Cannon County Grand Jury. Those persons indicted during Friday’s session include:

Michael Sanders for driving while license revoked 4th offense, speeding and insurance law,

Jack Marlin Stephens, Jr. for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration over .20,

Wendy Marie Thomas and Allison Danielle Church for promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine and initiation of the process to manufacture methamphetamine,

Kirk Wayne Wilson for driving under the influence, violation of the implied consent law, driving while license revoked and driving while a habitual motor vehicle offender,

Misty Nissa Rutledge for promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine,

Robert A. Deffendoll and Camren J. Deffendoll for burglary and theft over $500.00,

Jonathan W. Johnson for theft and aggravated burglary,

Jeremy Thomas, Thomas Clay Davis, Joseph P. Brinkley and Jessie L. Scott for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine. In addition, Jeremy Thomas is charged with destruction of evidence.

In addition the above indictments, the Grand Jury also returned 10 sealed indictments. The names of those defendants will not be released until they are arrested.

The Cannon Courier must stress that an indictment by the Grand Jury is not a finding of guilt. It simply means that the Grand Jury felt there was enough evidence to move the case forward for trial.
