15 Face Charges Following Recent Incidents

Local law enforcement officers brought charges against 17 people in separate incidents recently.

• Randall C. Smotherman, 3907 Dickens Hill Rd., Bradyville, was charged with DUI 2nd offense and driving on a revoked license 1st offense on Jan. 29 by Sgt. John House of the Woodbury Police Dept. Smotherman was found parked in the middle of Bryant Lane passed out with the keys to the vehicle under him. Smother admitted to driving the vehicle and stated he was headed home. He also admitted to taking the vehicle, which is owned by his mother, without her permission. Initial court date is Feb. 15.

• Andrew Michael Seymour, 638 Manustown Rd., Woodbury, was charged with DUI, driving on a revoked license, carrying a weapon with the intent to go armed and theft (possession of a stolen firearm) on Feb. 6 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Moss following a traffic stop on Highway 70S. Initial court date is March 1.

• Johnathan Simmons, 150 Clearcreek Rd. Lot 4, Liberty, was charged with driving on a suspended license 2nd offense, on Feb. 11 by Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown following a traffic stop on Gassway Rd. Initial court date is March 22.

• Leonard A. Reynolds, 3476 Ragsdale Rd. Lot F6, Manchester, was charged with driving on a revoked license on Feb. 5 by Cannon County Sheriff's Investigator Anthony Young following a traffic stop on Highway 53S. Reynolds told Investigator Young his had been revoked for a DUI in Florida 21 years ago. Initial court date is March 1.

• Robert Lee Odom, 804 Old Manchester Rd., Woodbury, was arrested on two charges of theft under $500 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire after he allegedly robbed the same victim twice within three hours on Feb. 3. The first theft was in the amount of $5 and the second $90. Initial court date is Feb. 22.

• Gregory Jason Porter, 406 Lester St., Woodbury, was charged with DUI 1st offense on Jan. 30 by Woodbury Police Sgt. John House following a traffic stop on McBroom St. Initial court date is March 22.

• Joshua B. Mullinax, 2617 Short Mountain Rd., Woodbury, was charged with domestic assault on Feb. 1 after the alleged victim swore out a complaint against him. The warrant was served by CCSD Deputy Matthew Parsley. Initial court date is March 1.

• Candice Dawn Laxton, 120 England Lane, Woodbury, was charged with DUI on Feb. 2 by CCSD Deputy Brandon Mims following an accident on Burt Burgen Rd. Laxton admitted to law enforcement officers and hospital staff that she had been drinking and driving. Initial court date is March 1.

• Lewis Kronnick, 775 Mason Hollow Rd., Woodbury, was charged with driving on a suspended license on Feb. 5 by Woodbury Police Sgt. John House following a traffic stop on South Ridge Dr. Initial court date is March 22.

• Melissa Fern Jordan, 614 Hardison St. C-7, Tullahoma, was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 6 by CCSD Deputy Brandon Gullett following a routine traffic stop for failure to maintain lane of travel on Highway 53S. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered Jordan was wanted for violation of probation in Rutherford County. While she was being booked at the Cannon County Jail, the drugs and paraphernalia were found to be in her possession. Initial court date is March 1.

• Gregory Wayne Hale, 40 Hogan Davenport Rd., Readyville, was charged with failure to report an accident on Feb. 2 by CCSD Deputy Brandon Mims. Deputy Mims had been dispatched to Burt Road, a quarter mile from Petty Gap Rd., following a report of a possible drunk driver who had run off the road. Deputy Mims located the vehicle that had been described to him as being a black Nissan.When questioned Hale said he had an accident and a friend came to pull his vehicle back onto the roadway. Hale said he had not been drinking. Initial court date is March 1.

• Antoine L. Baptiste, 1320 Journey Dr., Apt. 1026A, Murfreesboro, was charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding (70/55) and violation of the financial responsibility law on Feb. 6 by Woodbury Asst. Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham following a traffic stop on John Bragg Hwy. Initial court date is March 22.

• Christopher Hoover, 814 S. McCrary St., Woodbury, was served a warrant for violation of probation on Feb. 8 by CCSD Deputy Randy Neal. He was booked at the Cannon County Jail.

• Joshua Alan Read, 7556 Rock Fork Rd., Smyra, was charged with violation of the vehicle insurance and registration laws on Feb. 6 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Gullett following a traffic stop on Highway 70S. Initial court date is March 15.

• Julia Taylor Chambless, 1137B Roach Hollow Rd., Woodbury, was charged with failure to provide proof of insurance on Feb. 1 by CCSD Deputy Tommy Barker following a motor vehicle accident on Old Manchester Rd. Initial court date is March 15.
