A new group, called “The Club”  has been organized to help Cannon County runners get on track.

Jenni Arnold, Tracy Elrod, Brian Elrod and Kim Smithson are founders of The Club.  All of them are seasoned runners with experience in everything from 5Ks to full marathons.

“The four of us loving running,” said Arnold. ”We’ve got a bunch of races under our belt.”

The Club meets at 2 p.m. Sundays at Woodbury’s Dillon Park

“We’re just passionate runners and we want to offer that to our Woodbury folks for free,” she said.

The Club is open to everyone interested in running. Inexperienced runners can learn basic information on how to stretch, how to run and even the right shoes to buy.

“People run for many different reasons. Whatever your reason, The Club can help you get started/learn stretching, get fit/lose weight, have fun, run with a group, relieve stress, run with old friends and meet new friends,” she explained.

“We want to help you achieve your running goals. You are sure to find someone at your pace. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend! Group runs began in March, and our weekly run schedule is posted on our Facebook page,” she said.

The Club will also have a team running several local races for those wishing to participate. A good example is the Middle Half race coming up in 12 weeks in Murfreesboro.
