Gary Lee Waddell

Mr. Gary Lee Waddell, 64, of Woodbury died May 21, 2014 at the Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center. He was born on July 4, 1949 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was preceded by his mother, Mary Foster Waddell.

He is survived by his father, Herman Waddell, Sr. of Murfreesboro, son, Michael A. Waddell of Florida, daughters, Tiffany Waddell and Jennifer Waddell both of Michigan, brothers, Mike Waddell of Woodbury and Herman, Jr. (Darlene) Waddell of Murfreesboro, also by five grandchildren.

Gary grew up in the Kittrell Community in Rutherford County. He and his brothers were close in age and had a close relationship. He was active in sports during grammar school and high school. He graduated Kittrell High School in 1967 and then proudly volunteered for the U. S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam. He will be missed by his family and friends. The U. S. Military Honor Guard will attend to present funeral honors.

The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 3-4 PM. A memorial service will follow in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 4 PM.
