We might get a shower or two of rain the next few days. Rain we definitely need as we are behind over 3 inches for the year according to the weatherman. Seems like the rainfall just shut off abruptly about three weeks back. Until that happened, we could count on having a shower pretty often to keep us mowing every few days.
Got to talk to Bernie Braswell the other day. He said he was doing pretty good.
Carlon Melton doing somewhat better on Thursday. Do be praying for him and Mai Nell.
Fall cleaning well underway as each day a new chore is being tackled and I keep at it till it's done to my satisfaction. Before I would go from one room to another getting a little done here and there and our house not looking that much better. Have you done this, too? Sort of frustrating isn't it? I'm determined this time to give our house a better cleaning especially before the holidays are here. Naturally, with the weather so comfortable outside, a person has to steal away every so often to sit outside and simply enjoy the beautiful and serene scenes of nature that God give us. When it's cold out there, I will be, of course, hibernating indoors. Try to make this fall one to remember for all the peacefulness it brings into your life. Only, a few minutes outside and you'll know just what I am talking about.
The leaves on the trees have sort of calmed down this afternoon and the tree limbs are gently swaying in the breeze. A blustery wind was blowing everything around this morning. Picturesque view of the mountain as I'm looking out our back door today as the color of the leaves on those trees trying to emerge as it won't be much longer until it will be their time to shine in the spotlight.
I could hear a neighbor using their chainsaw this Saturday morning, as I stepped outside our patio door. Probably a tree he was cutting down. Also, while sitting at the patio table work going on with some kind of drill at another neighbor's house. If you had something you needed to get done, today was the day.
Won't be long till election day. By all means, get out and vote that day. Even if your candidate doesn't win, you will have exercised your right to vote. We are to pray for those who win the election and ask God to help them make the right decisions concerning all of us.
On our prayer list this week: the family of Chloe Evelyn Bogle, Ruth Brown, Fay Pitts, Edith Miller, and Denise Stanton.
Charlie Mai Daniel doing better and back in church on Sunday.
Pastor Chris Moore delivering a good sermon Sunday on how we should not live in fear as the Lord, the one who created this world and everything in it, is always there to help us in fighting the enemy when trials come our way. Never are we alone. We are on the winning side and will be triumphant in this life by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Savior. Our enemy/ the loser in this world is always trying to stir up ill will and discontent especially among we Christians. You see that in so many churches, nowadays. Listen and concentrate on the Lord and then you won't have the time to do the loser's bidding. He's like the dirt on the ground to be stepped on. Heaven awaits those that serve only Jesus and it will all be worth it when our life here is over. We'll really be living then with no worries, no heartaches, and no tears only happiness will abound with Jesus our Master for eternity.
Seems like the 'little green men' are here for the long haul. Word around here is that they now have enough wood to stay warm in the devil's hole for the winter. Their food supply they are still working on. The 'invisible cow' and that 'rabbit' figured they had better depart from the aliens, before winter weather sets in, because if that food supply ran out, they might be next on the menu.
