Tennessee Regional Combined Federal Campaign, CFC, is similar to United Way, but is geared to our Federal Employees. CFC launches their campaign in the Fall, holding agency fairs that recognize federal employees generous donations and commitment to non profits.
The agency fairs also allow Federal Employees an opportunity to meet and learn about local non profits and the services they offer, helping employees to choose the agency they would like to designate donations.
The Agency Fairs are usually held in Nashville or larger areas such as Murfreesboro. Often the smaller areas like Woodbury are not able to attend and participate in the events, nor get the recognition they deserve. However, the smaller areas are just as important.
On Wednesday, November 3, 2010 Representatives Kelly Hunt and Caitlin Parson visited our local post offices to say thank you to our local Federal Employees. Mrs. Hunt and Ms. Parson work endless hours every year on the Combined Federal Campaign. They set up the agency fairs, coordinate with non profits and federal employees to make the fairs a success.
However, on this date, with donuts in hand (donated by Krispy Kreme) the two ladies, along with Cannon County SAVE Director, Lisa Baird, visited the wonderful employees at the Woodbury, Bradyville, Readyville and Liberty Post Offices. Not only do these employees work hard, ensuring our mail is delivered on time and with care, they care about their community. Last year the US. Postal Service, alone, raised $303,420.18 for non profits listed with the CFC Charities.
This is SAVE's first year with CFC. Cannon County SAVE is a not for profit agency geared to stopping domestic violence in our area. If you would like to learn more about this agency, the services it offers, or how you can help, please contact the SAVE office at 615-563-6690. If you are a Federal Employee and would like to designate to SAVE the CFC number is 24164.
SAVE would like to personally thank all Federal Employees. We greatly appreciate your support and your generosity for non profits everywhere. It is through individuals like you that agencies can continued to provide vital services to the community.
If someone you know is a victim of violence please contact SAVE at 615-563-6690. Our lines are open 24/7. We are here to help.
