A recent visit to McMinnville by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture's Business Development and Plant Certification teams was like planting the seeds of collaboration magic! Discussions held with nursery partners are strengthening the ties between us and laying the groundwork for future teamwork and growth.
One of the highlights was the visit to a hydroponic Greenhouse operation. The visit was particularly important as it aligns with our goal of supporting small farmers in rural counties to explore Controlled Environmental Agriculture (CEA) as a viable business option. By promoting CEA, we aim to tackle food challenges and boost farming in rural spots. This initiative not only benefits the local farmers but also contributes to the overall development and sustainability of rural communities.
Fun Fact: McMinnville is known as the Nursery Capital of the World. It's home to over 400 thriving nurseries.
