Ray Murphy

Mr. Ray Murphy, 51, of Woodbury passed away May 19, 2015. He was born in Rutherford County, Tennessee on June 5, 1962. His parents were the late Clifton White Murphy and Helen Louise (Hall) Murphy.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Duggin Murphy of Woodbury; son, Bobby Murphy of Woodbury; daughter, Sonya & Micha Reese of Coffee County; step-son, Daniel & Macy Frazier of Smithville; brothers, Ricky & Ruth Murphy and Troy & Jean Murphy both of Woodbury; sisters, Kay Mathis and Teresa & Jim Parker both of Woodbury; step-grandson, Hunter Frazier and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Ray was a hard worker. He worked as a logger and for a tree service. He loved being outdoors, riding horses, fishing and camping. Mr. Ray enjoyed hanging out with friends and "just being Ray". He was looking forward to his son's graduation from Cannon County High School this week. He and Mrs. Kathy were married over 18 years.

Visitation with the family will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, May 24, 2015 from 10-5 pm. The family will hold a private burial service at Jennings Cemetery in Statesville.
