Lions Sports Schedules This Week August 28-September 2

The Cannon County Lionettes volleyball team took Boyd Christian to the brink before falling in five sets 25-15, 18-25, 16-25, 25-20, 5-15. The Lionettes jump back into district play Tuesday in Lynchburg at Moore County High School and Thursday back at home against Forrest. All games start at 5 with the Junior Varsity playing first.

The High School Golf team as three matches on the schedule this week. Tuesday has the Lions and Lionettes playing on the Smithville Golf Course against DeKalb and Thursday will find them at Cumberland Cove Golf Course against Monterey. All tee times are at 3:30.

The Lionettes High School soccer team will be in action at Fred Schwartz Field Tuesday as they host York Institute. They will be on the road Thursday for a match at Middle Tennessee Christian School with both games kicking off at 6:00 p.m.

After a good start to the Cross Country season, the Lions and Lionettes Middle and High School Cross Country teams will be in Cookeville Tuesday to participate in the Cookeville Invitational. The Middle School and High School teams will start at 5:00. Saturday both teams will meet at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro for the Riverdale Invitational at 8:00 a.m.

The Cannon County Lions Middle School Football team looks to stay undefeated in Duck River Valley Conference Play Thursday. They will be traveling to Bedford County to play Liberty Middle School in a 6:30 kickoff.

Cannon County Youth Football starts Saturday September 2nd.
