Cannon Closes Basketball Season With Region Losses

Gus Davenport scored 40 points in his final game in a Cannon County uniform as the number one seeded District 6-AA Cannon County Lions lost to number two seeded District 5-AA York Institute Dragons 74-55 in the semi-finals of the Region 3-AA tournament at Watertown.
York advances to the Region 3-AA Championship where they will meet Jackson County who ended Smith County's season with a 58-53 win over the Owls.
Cannon finishes with a 18-13 record

The Cannon County Lionettes gave the York Institute Lady Dragons all they could handle before falling 54-44 to the number one seed out of District 5-AA in Watertown Monday night. York advances to the championship game Wednesday night where they meet the number one seed from District 6-AA Westmoreland who ended Smith County's season 58.53.
Lionettes finished with a 14-16 record.
