The Cannon County Jail was certified this week following an inspection by the Tennessee Corrections Institute.

The cells, the booking room, the kitchen, the guard tower, the training of corrections officers and the policy manual all received high marks from Detention Facility Specialist Miller Meadows.

The jail facility is about 20 years old. Inspector Meadows credited Jail Administrator Ed Brown and Corrections Officer Sgt. Albert Summers for their efforts in making improvements to conditions and policies.
