Cannon County Elementary and Middle Schools will be getting safety bollards and speed bumps installed soon.
Bids were accepted and opened on January 14th with five companies bidding for the project.
Safety bollards are durable, vertical posts designed to protect pedestrians, buildings, and equipment by creating a secure, visible barrier against vehicular traffic. They are primarily made of steel or concrete.
The Cannon County Board of Education will award one of the five companies the project during their regular monthly meeting which takes place Thursday February 12th at the Cannon County Elementary/Middle School cafeteria.
Also on the agenda, the Board will be narrowing down a date to get together for a work session concerning the future of Cannon County Middle School. The Board had scheduled a meeting in January but it had to be rescheduled due to bad weather.
Cannon County High School Football Head Coach Tommy Hinch is on the agenda to address the Board concerning the football field.
The actual Board meeting will start at 6p Thursday February 12th.
