Three men are scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday (Jan. 24) to answer charges that they were hunting deer illegally in early December.

The charges filed against the three men include Spotlighting Deer, Hunting From A Motorized Craft, Hunting From A Public Roadway and Hunting During Closed Season.

On Friday, Dec. 2, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency Officer Mark Vance observed a Nissan Frontier truck being operated on Goodridge Rd. The truck was being driven by Daniel Tyler Jones with passengers Matthew Wallace Burrows and Anthony Tyler Young.

The light of a spotlight was being directed from the driver’s side of the vehicle in an apparent attempt to locate deer at a time promulgated as a closed season.

Further attempts to locate deer using the spotlight were observed by Officer Vance when the light from the spotlight was directed from the passenger side of the vehicle.

The three men are all from McMinnville.
