Spring practice to begin

Cannon County began spring practice under first-year head coach T.J. Daniel Monday.. Practices start at 4:30 p.m. leading up to the spring game, scheduled for May 18. Time for the spring game will be set at a later date.

The Lions will also conduct a free mini football camp for area youth prior to the spring game. More details will become available in the near future.

2013 hoops camps set

The 2013 Camp of Champions will take place May 28-31 at Cannon County High School’s Gymnasium.

The girls basketball camp, hosted by the Lionettes, is for girls in grades K-through-eight.

The game runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day. Cost is $45.

Campers will focus on shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding, position work, games and there will be a guest speaker.

* Lions Head Coach Matt Rigsby will ofer the fifth annual Next Level Basketball Camp May 28-31 at CCHS from 1-4 p.m.

The camp is for players in grades K-through 8. Cost is $45.

Instruction includes shooting, ball handling, passing, defensive positioning and competitive games.
