Six Charged With Various Driving Violations

The Cannon County Sheriff’s Department announced last week that they would be cracking down on violators of the county’s wheel tax sticker law. That charge was levied against three of six persons cited for driving violations recently.

• Charles Randall Hancock, Jr., 1125 Stainback Ave., Nashville, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and violation of the Registration and Financial Responsibility laws on Jan. 4 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen.

Hancock was allegedly involved in a single car accident at the intersections of Pea Ridge and Ferrell  roads on Jan. 1. His vehicle, a green Saturn, had struck a tree.

Hancock, who suffered a broken ankle and head laceration, had been picked up by a cousin and was later transported to a hospital in Lebanon by his father for treatment.

He went to the sheriff’s department on Jan. 4 to retrieve the key to the vehicle and was issued citations for the alleged offenses. Initial court date is Feb. 7.

• Amanda Charlene Barrett, 2585 or 2691 Iconium Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on Jan. 5 following a traffic stop on W. Main St. Barrett’s vehicle was stopped for alleged seat belt and registration violations. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 21.

• Ronica Renee Arnold, 2491 Sugar Tree Knob Rd., Liberty, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on Jan. 6 following a traffic stop on S. McCrary St. in Woodbury. Arnold’s vehicle was stopped for a headlight violation. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 21.

• Brenda Lou Barrett, 5522 Big Hill Rd., Liberty, was charged with violations of the Registration, Wheel Tax and Financial Responsibility laws on Jan. 9 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen following a traffic stop on Stones River Rd. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 28.

• James Dillion Mitchell, 7077 Ivy Bluff Rd., Morrison, was charged with violations of the Wheel Tax and Registration laws on Jan. 9 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen following a traffic stop on Jim Cummings Hwy. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 28.

• Thomas C. Coleman, 519 Bryant Lane, Woodbury, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License and violation of the Seat Belt and Wheel Tax Sticker laws on Jan. 10 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Moss following a traffic stop on College St. Bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is Feb. 7.
