Sassy VEG Productions To Present Vegan Cooking Class

MURFREESBORO — On Saturday, August 8, 2009, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sassy VEG Productions will present their vegan cooking class titled “Meals On The Go” at The Discovery Center, 502 SE Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. This is the next themed class in their series of vegetarian/vegan cooking classes that the group will present twice a month at the Center throughout the rest of the year.

“Meals On The Go” class participants will enjoy learning how to prepare quick meals for busy families and tasting each of the delicious dishes from the class menu which includes: Quick Corn Chowder, Mexican Cornbread Casserole, Sweet Potato Wedges with Peanut Sauce, Zippy Cheeze Sauce and Crispy Treats. They will also receive a packet of information that includes all the recipes, ingredient information, and additional information on health-related topics.

“As Summer gives way to busy Fall school and work schedules, fast food drive through lines get longer,” states Sharon Jacks, Founding Partner and Lead Instructor for Sassy VEG Productions. “This class is designed to help busy families – and anyone on a tight schedule and budget – eat well. In fact, a lot of the dishes make great leftovers and inspire other quick meal ideas.”

Sassy VEG Productions is a new endeavor by Murfreesboro residents: Sharon Jacks, Christiénne Miller, and Christy Neese. They promote a plant-based lifestyle through the presentation of delicious, fun, and vibrant cuisine in cooking classes and event catering. Their vision is to improve the health and wellness of their community through education, nutrition, and inclusive fellowship. Discovery Center is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization providing a hands-on museum and nature center for Middle Tennessee and the surrounding area. Open Monday-Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday from 1:00-5:00pm, the museum serves the public through exhibits and programs in the arts and sciences.
