Proclamation honors achievements of Joe Sissom

County Executive Mike Gannon and President of Cannon County Historical Society Joe Davenport and others gathered to look over the framed copy of the Proclamation of Appreciation for Joe H. Sissom, designating Faithful, Dedicated Public Service.


 Joe was born in 1935 at Hollow Springs, Cannon County, TN to parents Floyd Sissom and Elsie Parker Sissom. He and his wife, Joyce Miller Sissom had children Tammy Jo and Randy Harris and Gaylon and Suzette Sissom. Grandchildren include Abby, Emely, Anna Grace Sissom, and Nick, Luke, Amanda and Jack Harris.


 Joe H. Sissom began his service as Soul Winner and Pastor 43 years ago.


 Whereas, he served Kentucky and Tennessee and at retirement age returned to Hollow Springs Community and built a church to serve his friends and relatives.


 His public service continues to be remembered by the many people he served as an Approachable Leader, Humble, Helpful, Generous with his time, Simple and Caring.


 The Hollow Springs Community and Citizens of Cannon County desire to recognize and applaud his achievements.
