Hello, my name is Norma Knox. I live in the First District in the Readyville community. I have been married to Joe Knox for 23 years and we have two children, Luke 19, a sophomore at MTSU and Alex, 12, a student at West Side Elementary School.

Being born and raised in Cannon County, I have a great love for every aspect of our county, but especially the people who reside here. After graduating from Cannon County High School and completing Middle Tennessee Barber College, with support from those very people, I have been an entrepreneur for the past twenty years. Serving on several advisory committees for our Board of Education has enabled me to stay abreast of the educational progress Cannon County has made. Recently, I visited the State Capitol to file a charter with the Secretary of State for West Side PTO, for whom I have served as treasurer since 2004.

I am asking for your support and vote in the August 5, 2010 County General Election for Trustee of Cannon County. The Tennessee constitution provides for a Trustee for each county. The office of Trustee was established by the state legislature based on the principle that taxes could best be collected at the local level. All local taxes and general fund dollars from the State and Federal Government are collected by the Trustee’s office. This money is placed into a local short term account to collect interest until disbursements are made by the School Board or County Commission. If elected Trustee, I will make every effort to find and offer new services to assist our taxpayers. I will execute the Office of Trustee in a precise and meticulous manner with a thorough cash management policy.

Being enthusiastically involved in church, family and community has always been a priority and I hope for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Cannon County. I look forward to seeing you during this campaign, but if not, please remember to vote NORMA KNOX for Trustee.
