Son Charged With Twice Assaulting Mother

A Bradyville man will appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on Sept. 14 to answer charges of domestic assault involving his mother.

John Edward Montrose was first charged by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Steve McMillen on Aug. 3 following an incident at his mother's home.

In his affidavit of complaint, McMillen wrote, "On or about 3 August 2010, John Edward Montrose did commit the offense of Domestic Assault by striking his mother in the chest and and also in the head with his fist. John Montrose also threatened to burn the house down that (his mother) resides at with her in the house.

Montrose left the home following the first incident and eluded law enforcement.

Montrose was charged again after another incident at the home the next day by Deputy Reed Bryson, who noted in his affidavit of complaint:

"On or about 4 August 2010, John Edward Montrose did commit the offense of Domestic Assault by pushing mother into (a) chair while in an argument. He then pulled the phone wires from the outside telephone connection box."

Montrose was located and arrested the following day, Aug. 5.

According to a source, compounding the problems of the mother is she is also undergoing treatment for cancer.

Montrose is currently incarcerated at the Cannon County Jail under $7000, for two charges of domestic assault.

He will reap what he sow. When the time comes and his mom passes on. He will wish to God he could take back what he did. You are only blessed with one mother in this life. He really needs to appreciate her.
